Workshop

The Workshop document will be used during the lent retreat to target our own personal wilderness and how to truly flourish in this lenten period.

The Jesus Prayer

The Jesus Prayer is a powerful and short prayer which, by its very simplicity, has transformed sinners to saints. In it we reflect on the power of uttering our Lord’s name and recognising our own weakness. Join Father Antony on this journey to understanding the Jesus Prayer and practically applying it in our lives.

The Purpose of Prostrations

Fr. Mark has gifted us with a beautiful understanding of prostrations and how they can be implemented in our prayer life. Many saints, even in old age, cling to this practice for it serves as a physical manifestation of true repentance. May we bow down in humility and resurrect in the Lord’s power.

Patristics

The Church is rich with the wisdom of her fathers and mothers. From these great saints we are enlightened to the true meaning of scripture and advised on how to practically overcome the daily tribulations that plague our lives. Let us take the time to learn from St. John Chrysostom as he councils his friend St. Olympia(s) on combatting despair. May this serve as an introduction to the pearls of wisdom we can learn from those who walked before us.

Melody of the Wilderness

An original piece of music borne out of a period of prayer and worship to God, May it be used as a tool to help us enter God’s Presence, a means of calming our senses to still our hearts and be ready to receive God’s word.
