Psalm

From the Psalms of our teacher David the prophet. May his blessings be with us all. Amen.

Psalms 146:1,5

146:1 Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul!

146:5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God,

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Our Lord God, Savior, and King of us all, Jesus Christ, the Living Son of God to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Gospel

Stand in the fear of God and listen to the Holy Gospel. A reading from the Gospel according to our teacher Saint Matthew, the Evangelist. May His Blessings be with us all. Amen.

Matthew 4:18-22

4:18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." 20  21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

And Glory be to God forever.
